Beginning May 1, 2008, Fairfax County prohibits parking of watercraft, boat trailers, motor homes,camping trailers, and any other trailer or semi-trailer on Mount Air Drive. Vehicles parked in violation may be ticketed and towed. 

On March 10, 2008, the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors approved the establishment of the Mount Vernon Community Parking District.  Within the Mount Vernon CPD, certain vehicle types are now restricted from parking on any public roads or highways. 

Vehicles that are restricted:

• Boat Trailer
• Watercraft (boat)
• Motor Home
• Camping Trailer
• Trailer or Semi-trailer, even if attached to a vehicle
• Vehicle >= 3 axles
• Vehicle with a gross vehicle weighted rating (GVWR) >= 12,000 lbs

Vehicles temporarily parked (for up to 48 hours) for the purpose of loading, unloading or preparing for a trip are exempt. More information is available at www.fairfaxcounty.gov/fcdot/rtap.htm#cpd
